If you are wondering where to go for your next family vacation and looking for a holiday destination which would suit the adults as well as the children, go for Coronado beaches, selected as the #2 beach in the US and the #1 family beach by the Travel Channel. Because the waves from the sea are generally small, the beach is considered to be safe for the little ones. In fact, this could be a good learning ground for them for getting to know surfing and using the boogie board. But how do Coronado beaches look like?

The first thing that strikes you is its unending miles of white sand adorned by splendid resorts and dedicated bike trails which never seem to end. If you are a golf enthusiast, there is an 18-hole golf course awaiting you. To be precise there are over 70 golf courses to be played in while you are holidaying! One of the best choices for a family beach vacation, Coronado is simply 14 miles from San Diego International Airport. Located on the western section of San Diego Bay, there are several convenient and fast ferry rides to Coronado from San Diego.

If you are new to sports like water skiing and kayaking, do not fret. The Coronado Boathouse provides as well as instruction for sail boats, speed boats, water skiing and jet skis. In fact, board rentals as well as lessons and equipment are all available from the local resorts. The Half Moon Bay beach is ideal for walking and jogging while the Dog Beach welcomes you to cuddle some of the cutest four-legged friends. Paddle boats and kayaks are also available while the whole family can learn how to sail an 18 feet Capri sail boat in one short and easy lesson by the Boathouse staff. Of course you also have the captain to help you out.

Other Coronado vacation attractions include the Ferry Landing Marketplace, tours of the Naval Air Station at North Island, and Lamb’s Players Theater. Your family would be thrilled at the world famous San Diego Zoo, Sea World, Lego land, and the San Diego Wild Animal Park. Other family entertainers are the Stephen Birch Aquarium & Museum at the Scripps Institute of Oceanography. Additionally Coronado beaches offer plenty of other recreational activities to keep the whole family busy and occupied. There are plenty of resorts and smaller properties to choose from when you are considering accommodation for the family. The Hotel del Coronado, Loews Coronado Bay Resort, Glorietta Bay Inn, Coronado Island Marriott Resort San Diego are some of the most known places to stay while vacationing in Coronado.

There are four major theme parks which comprise the Walt Disney World Vacation. To plan a family vacation for touring these theme parks which are Magic Kingdom (bigger than California’s Disneyland), Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom, you not only need time but also money as the trip can be quite complex. Meticulous planning is a must for getting the most out of your family vacation in the Disney World venues.

Here are some tips to make the most out of your vacation, so that you do not lose precious time or end up paying more than you have to. There are several planning measures which you have to take before you begin your trip. For example, consider the itineraries which would suit the ages of your children. Visit the Disney World website for finding the relevant activities and sights for your pre-school, teens or bigger kids. When booking for rides, there are special age and height requirements. Check it out to avoid disappointing your kid at the last moment. There are special dates and days when the parts are closed for maintenance. Check these out, prior to departure. To get the most of every day of your vacation, check out the calendar of events of each venue for special parades, live entertainment and fireworks. Since the distance between the parks is significant, if you want to end the day with a firework display, plan it accordingly. If you have kids who are too small to be sent out alone for a ride, go for the ‘baby swap’ which is also called ‘adult swap’ program. Here the parents alternately take care of babies who are too small and older kids. One parent rides while the other one waits. It is pretty simple and helps everyone to have a good time.

Look for the special ‘Extra Magic Hour’ relevant to the park you are visiting for the day. Remember, one of the four parks opens early for Disney world guests only. If you are staying within the premises, then go to that park early or it is best to avoid that park for most of the day. Disney’s water parks usually get packed by noon and Animal Kingdom closes early. So it is best to set out for your trip early on. Noon time is the hottest during the day when it is advisable to return to your resort or hotel with the kids. You could go back again in the evening when three of the four theme parks have special night time programs. Take advantage of Fastpass – a simple and free facility which allows you to break the long queues which you find at the most popular rides. Use them strategically though. To save money, take a lot of snacks and drinks with you. Kids need a lot of fluid during Florida’s hot and humid days.

Convenient to reach, Greater Miami and its beaches have something for every one in the family. with an average annual temperature ranging in the mild 76 degrees or near about, Greater Miami is a family paradise resplendent with lush tropical greens, exotic flora and fauna, heady fragrance of wild jasmine and sound of wild parrots’ squawks. Look up and you might catch the glimpse of colorful flamingos flying overhead with their legendary grace and style. What is the Greater Miami area made of? It is an elaborate network of several barrier islands, coral rock formations, and mangrove swamps, ancient banyan trees combined with broad roads, picturesque bridges and highways. Of course, it is famous for its expansive stretch of fine white sandy beaches and awe-inspiring ocean surf.

Where can you find a family vacation spot with Atlantic Ocean on the east and Everglades National Park on the west and not to forget the Biscayne National Park the only living coral reed in North America lying only a few miles south. Reaching the Greater Miami area is extremely convenient. Miami International Airport is just a 20-minute drive to reach any major destination of the area. By land, Greater Miami is accessible via the Florida Turnpike, I-95, U.S.1 and Amtrak’s rail system.

Greater Miami not only has a vibrant nightlife with world-famous restaurants and recreational activities through out the year, but the area’s cultural calendar is also filled with innumerable festivals and events where all the members of the family can participate and enjoy. For instance, when you visit North Miami, you will encounter Surfside the ideal venue for family vacations. For the lady as well as children of the house, there is Bal Harbour, which is considered to be the mother of stylish shopping where you could find designer outlets Gucci, Fendi, Tiffany’s, Bulgari and Cartier. Sunny Isles is another venue where you could find sea grapes on its long and extended beaches. While you sunbathe, the children can frolic on the surf. There are plenty of affordable accommodations in Sunny Isles as well as a plethora of water sports which every member of the family can enjoy. The Art Deco district of downtown Miami is also a nice venue for daily family tours. South Dade provides a unique combination of rural beauty and must-visit spots like Everglades and Biscayne National Parks, Miami Metro Zoo, Parrot Jungle and Monkey Jungle, the Homestead Motor sports Complex and more. All this and more make Greater Miami an unforgettable vacation venue for the entire family. Greater Miami is also a gourmets’ delight as there is a wide variety of restaurants to cater to every type of family taste. Joe’s Stone Crab is famous for seafood which is a landmark on Miami beach. This place is open only during stone-crab season (May through October). They have several “potato” side dishes to go along with the crabs.

How would like to take your family for a vacation and stay at a resort which meet the following criteria? It is placed at the number two slot for the Northeast in Child Magazine’s 10 Best Family-Friendly Resorts in the entire US.The activities are so well planned for the whole family that the children are so busy with them that they are neither seen nor heard, where they have model boat races on the turtle pond in front of the living room.Where the space is so large that no other guest can get under your skin during your stay. If the features mentioned above appeals to you, then plan your next vacation to Winnetu Inn, 31 Dunes Rd., Edgartown, Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, where the huge front lawn overlooks the beach and the Atlantic Ocean.

If you are wondering whether the place would be suitable for your 3 year old, it is, as is evident from the complimentary children’s program which includes a supervised morning of play except Sunday. The evening also has some interesting activities planned, like a weekly barbeque program with the neighboring South Beach community and renters, owners in the resort’s extended property called Mattakesett. If you are a bit curious to know what the word Winnetu mean, you have to trace the history of the place where Wampanoag Indians were amongst the first to settle before the whites came in. “Winnetu” is Wampanoag for “beautiful,” while “mattakesett” is Wampanoag for “waters too rough for canoe.” There are lot of other resorts in Martha’s Vineyard which have well-planned programs which cater to the needs of the grandchild and the grandparents with parents also rolled in. While golfing, tennis, gallery-hopping, complimentary yoga can keep the adults busy the children can have an amazing farm land experience at the 200-acre Farm Institute by participating in a program called “Farmer for a Day’. In this program children learn another way of life planting a seed being or plucking a lettuce. They could even hold and feed chicks. You could even enroll your child who can be between 4 and 14 in a four-day farm camp if your child is keen to learn more. There is a splendid beach and several biking paths as well as kayaking opportunities in Martha’s Vineyard. Junior tennis clinics for teens, soccer consultants for your soccer-loving kid, the children can almost forget that they have parents with them during this amazing vacation. For instance, in the Winnetu Inn, they have two adult swimming pools and one for kids and their Garden Pavilion is filled with toys to please kids of any age. The Inn also offers mouth-watering barbeque food cooked by award winning chef Ed Gannon. While adults can gorge on fresh Katama oysters, line-caught swordfish, and lots of other fish, meats and poultry from the Farm Institute, children, have their own restaurant to have buffet of chicken and hamburgers, fish sticks and all the things which they love.

How about some jungle adventure with your family with some red poison dart frogs, small long-nosed bats doing their flying tricks amongst the trees infested by a variety of howling monkeys and brilliantly hued toucans for company? Sounds interesting? Welcome to Costa Rica where a trained guide can give your family the first breakthrough in knowledge about jungle habitat, assured to be more interesting than any wildlife television channel back home. Though you might have some one in the family who is an expert in wild life birds and the bees, but it is highly recommended that you ask for a naturalist guide who can make your hassle-free vacation more memorable. The Costa Rican jungle trip is ideal for families who want to experience natural wildlife amidst unpolluted nature while enjoying a thrilling time together.Introduced this year by Austin-Lehman, the renowned travel organizers with over 20 years of experience, this special family trip to Costa Rica is designed exclusively for families with children between 5 and 12 years of age. One of the best aspects of this organized vacation trip to Costa Rica is that Austin-Lehman has taken into several safety and other special family requirements into consideration while designing this trip. The net outcome of this pre-planning is a marvelously chalked out itinerary which works out in such a way that you are neither over-stressed with travel nor do you have loads of free time wondering what to do next. The Costa Rica family getaway is not just viewing wild animals in their own habitat. The holiday also includes activities like whitewater rafting, horse riding in the afternoons, kayaking through the jungle canals, visit to some awe-inspiring waterfalls, beach walks at night to see Atlantic Green sea turtles laying their eggs in the dark sand and more. The tour organizers have organized these activities in such convenient ways that even your smallest kid can participate in most of the events with ease and comfort. This holiday can also expose your family to some of the local culture as the itinerary is planned in such a way that there is time to visit the local farmers’ market, attending classrooms with grade three students of a public school, lunching at local eateries, visit to the local banana plantation and also a visit to the banana processing plant. These activities make very positive impressions in children and it leaves them happy, and most importantly aware of another way of life. Here are some tips to make your family vacation to Costa Rica more memorable: Take more than one camera with you. The disposable cameras can be given to the kids.
